Call of Duty: Black Ops Hits $1 Billion Mark

Call of Duty: Black Ops has defeated the $1 billion sales mark in around six weeks.  The Call of Duty games are the most popular PlayStation and Xbox games at the moment. Black Ops and Avatar have been the quickest to reach this marker.  The extent to which the game has been played is incredible with around 600 million hours have already been logged since its launch in early November.

However, these phenomenal results have not come easily. Those who played on computers and also on PlayStation 3 have experienced some problems with the game, in particularly on the online mode.  To fix this problem the game developers Treyarch released two patches and they have been successful so far.

Black Ops is the seventh game in the hugely popular Call of Duty series and it is the third game developed by Treyarch. The game has a Cold War theme and features many different campaigns. Call of Duty attracts some big name actors to do voiceovers due to its incredible popularity and its cult-like following.  Call of Duty: Black Ops hopes to have already by pass its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2 who also passed the barrier but not in such a short amount of time. With Christmas just round the corner, Call of Duty maybe hoping for another influx of sales.

Do you own COD: Black Ops? How do you rate the game?
