The Oscar Nominations 2011 were announced a a number of hours ago and they were seemingly dominated by the British film The King’s Speech

The films with the largest number of nominations are:

  • The King’s Speech leads the way in terms of nominations with 12.
  • True Grit has received 10 nods
  • The Social Network has received 8

Firm favourites must include Natalie Portman for Best Actress. I would also tip The King’s Speech as the Best Picture, as it is a film that really appeals to the members of the Academy.
