Earlier today Novak Djokovic defeated Andy Murray in the Australian Open Final. In the end Djokovic comfortably won 6- 4, 6-2, 6-3 – meaning Murray has lost all 3 of his Grand Slam finals in straight sets, reinforcing many peoples view that he bottles it on the big stage.
Novak dominated the Australian Open Final 2011 putting in a very convincing against a lackluster Murray. it marked the end of a fantastic tournament for Djokovic, who has only dropped one set in the whole tournament. He has been thoroughly convincing throughout and has deservedly taken his second grand slam by becoming the Australian Open Champion 2011. He hopes this will be the beginning of the end of the domination of world tennis by Nadal and Roger Federer.
Andy Murray meanwhile will be bitterly disappointed as he has now lost 3 Grand Slam finals in straight sets. Many believed today’s final was his chance to break out of the shackles and become the dominant force in tennis that he clearly has the ability to become. However once more the belief that many people have, that Murray loses it when it matters most, were merely reinforced. He lacked any of the early tournament vigour that had seen him dominate all his opponents. He retreated back into his pushing game and meekly allowed Djokovic to dominate.
