In the middle of his monologue on Saturday Night Live, Jesse Eisenberg was joined on stage by Andy Samberg pretending to be Mark Zuckerberg, the character he played in the critically acclaimed movie The Social Network. The actors compared their personal techniques for playing the character of the Facebook founder. However all this time the real Mark Zuckerberg was waiting backstage, and he eventually came on stage to join Jesse Eisenberg. The was the first meeting between the two, and both men confessed to being rather nervous.
The real Mark Zuckerberg was asked what he made of the movie “The Social Network”, to which he replied that it was “interesting”. The movie certainly didn’t portray Mr Zuckerberg in an entirely positive light, so it could be understood the reasons for him not praising the film with superlatives.
The goal of the event was to show that Mark Zuckerberg does have a sense of humour so he can ditch the relatively negative public perception of him. his line “Those guys are such nerds. Come on, I invented poking!” when mocking Andy Samberg and Jesse Eisenberg was a particular personal highlight.
You can watch Zuckerbeg meet Eisenberg in the video at the bottom of this page.
