  2. Google / Verizon is dropping the ball on this one. The Nexus 1 could easily rival the iPhone for the techies. Jobs has become a bitter old man who won’t let anybody else play in his sandbox Google could really capitalize on this.

This is a email sent directly from HTC, Thank you for contacting HTC via email. My name is Richard and I will be more than happy to assist with your question regarding a release of the Nexus One on the Verizon network. Your interest in this product is appreciated.

The device model you are asking about should be available in the near future, but it is up to the cellular carrier to decide the exact day of release. Your carrier’s support representatives probably do not have details either since release dates can change. It is best to check back with your carrier’s web site from time to time looking for a product release announcement. You may also follow us on various social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook for up to date information regarding releases and updates.

If you have any future questions feel free to reply. You may also enjoy community.htc.com, our customer-based forum, which has a plethora of information on HTC devices. You may be able to find feedback here from other users in your area who have purchased from any of HTC’s 3rd party retailers I would also like to invite you to participate in a customer satisfaction survey located at http://survey.htc.com/worldwide/. I hope you have a great day!

Hmm, you don’t think this has anything to do with the 700+ page complaint Apple filed against HTC looking to get an injunction on future sales of pretty much every handset HTC makes?

I have been a longtime Verizon customer and have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Nexus One. In part because I wanted a phone with functionality that meets or exceeds that of the iPhone, but did not want to move my whole family onto AT&T if I could avoid it.

Sadly, I am so frustrated by the delay and lack of information that I am very close to saying enough is enough and make the move. I would prefer to stay, but the lack of information and long wait is making me want to leave

I am so disappointed in Verizon and Google at the lack of communication with the public on the release of the Nexus One. Many of us have been patiently waiting, just to hear some firm information. Telling us Spring 2010 could be June 20th. I know that I have been very happy with Verizon but switching at the end of my contract, which happens soon, is a very real possibility. I just don’t understand why either or both companies are being so tight lipped about this. If it is the lawsuit, then tell us that it is being delayed for those reasons. If they are still working out the bugs, then tell us that as well. At this point there is no information and only rumors, which is bad for everyone. Both Verizon and Google are respected companies in the community but that is changing quickly. I wish someone with respect for the consumer would come forward and make a firm statement. Everyday I scour the news hoping to find some official news about the N1.

    Frustrated!!!
